L’Archevêché de Strasbourg et l’Église de la Confession d’Augsbourg d’Alsace et de Lorraine rappellent l’importance du respect du vendredi saint, jour où les chrétiens se souviennent de la mort du Christ, comme jour de recueillement et de simplicité. C’est ce caractère qui a conduit, traditionnellement, à en faire, en Alsace et en Moselle, un jour férié. Il appelle donc les partenaires sociaux et la société tout entière à faire preuve de mesure et de responsabilité, en ne transformant pas cette journée particulière en temps livré à la production et à la consommation."
